Bands and music

We've got an eclectic mix of bands and here are the ones we've booked, there may be more added, but here's what's confirmed so far.

John Paul Gard - 3.00pm - 5.00pm

Only 8 months from starting his first organ lessons at the age of 10, with Alan Woodley, John-Paul won the UK competition “Home Organist of the Year”. When John-Paul was 20 he gained a place on a 3 year music composition course at Coventry University where he studied with Prof Julian Heleby, Dr Christopher Best, Owen Dutton and Robert Ramskill. He also had tuition from Jason Rebello and Dave Buxton. During his studies at Coventry University he was also offered a place at the famous Jazz college, Berklee Music College in the USA. John-Paul’s recent credits are appearing with his own band John-Paul Gard Trio, and John-Paul Gard Solo, but also with The Ben Waghorn Trio,  The Becky Biggins Band, and has  appeared with The Kim Cypher Band, The Eddie Martin band (Blues) The Lee Goodall Trio, Mike Britton Trio, The Esmond Selwyn Organ Trio with Esmond Selwyn (Guitar) and Robin Jones (Drums).

Andy Urquhart Quartet - 6.00pm - 8.00pm

Andy Urquhartis one of the finest jazz trumpeters on the South Coast, he also leads Sound of Blue Note, and runs the house band at The Jazz Café at Sandbanks in Poole. He regularly accompanies a host of top UK jazz names such as Gilad Atzmon, Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, Jim Mullen and Tina May. They will be joined by Andy Oldfield for their second set.

Andy Oldfield - 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Andy Oldfield is a great all round entertainer and musician, he's a favourite in the local area and plays at the Wimborne Festival, as well as many of the areas music venues. He's been at many of the parties of friends and always gets on the wave length of the audience to get the party going. He's been a great help in organising several of the bands and will sing with the Andy Urquhart Quartet for part of their set.

16 Strings - 9.30pm - late

Sixteen String Jack combine Americana, Irish Traditional music and shanties to create an original stripped back sound that is guaranteed to get audiences dancing. Boasting fiddle, bass, banjo, mandolin and cigar box guitar alongside a host of great songs, there's plenty to excite. The band was formed in the summer of 2016 by Andy, Tom & Ethan three past members of the popular Bournemouth folk punk band “The Jack Ratts”. They have developed an entusiastic & lively experience for their audience which is guarenteed to get everybody up and dancing.

Late until later!

The night will go on until the last person standing, with a reputation for 'partying hard' the lanefest is set to last into the small hours for those hardy enough to last.
